Gince Goods, an Amsterdam-based accessory and lifestyle brand known for our unique sunglasses for every-day life. Inspired by timeless unisex designs, Gince is serving endlessly wearable eyewear for every face and creates statement pieces designed to elevate the everyday modern wardrobe.
Chelsey Weimar was born in Amsterdam. In 2020 she moved back to her roots and left New York where she spent her early twenties working as a model. As a model she traveled around the world from a young age. She was scouted at just 12 years old while performing in a street dance. Through Gince she can reclaim her face and identity which she has lent to other people’s creative processes. “I think that’s actually helped me develop mine”, she says. Chelsey poured her whole heart into the brand from designing to modeling in the debut campaign, to finding the small family-run factory in Rome where the glasses are produced. Even the name comes from a personal place, a combination of her nickname Cece and her dog’s name Ginny.
We work with a small family-run factory in Rome. They work only premium-quality cellulose acetate containing up to 80% of cotton, milled with the latest Japanese CNC machines at 5 axes. The lenses are cut by an high-precision automated machine. The polishing is done with the four stages process of tumbling lasting over 168 hours, and then brushing and finishing are done by hand.
